We respect your privacy and try to collect only what we need to clean your yard well and bill you correctly. We do not sell your personal information — not now, not as a "future plan." Here's the plain version.
What we collect
- Contact & service details: your name, address, email, phone, gate/access notes, and number of dogs.
- Service records: visit dates, status, notes, and proof-of-service photos of the yard.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We see whether a payment succeeded and a record of charges — we do not see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data needed to run the site (e.g. your address is geocoded to check coverage).
- Visit data, if you use the site: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you were on, the site that sent you here, and any advertising tags in the link you clicked (like
utm_sourceor a Google Ads click id). If you answer one of our "what held you back?" prompts, we keep this alongside your answer.
How we use it
To schedule and perform your service, confirm visits (including photos), bill you, respond when you contact us, and send service-related messages. That's it.
We use visit data for two things: keeping bots and spam off our forms, and understanding why people who visit don't sign up so we can fix it. Our site also uses Google Analytics and Google Ads, which set cookies and measure whether an ad led to a signup — so if you arrived from an ad, Google sees that visit too.
Who we share it with
Only the providers we need to actually run the service, and only as much as they need:
- Stripe — to process payments.
- Google Maps — to check coverage and find your address.
- Our email provider — to send you sign-in codes and service updates.
- Google Analytics & Google Ads — to see how the site is used and whether an ad led to a signup. This applies to the website, not to your service records.
We may also share information if the law requires it. We don't sell your data. Beyond the ad measurement described above, we don't hand it to advertisers.
Emails & your choices
Essential messages (sign-in codes, "we couldn't service your yard," receipts) are part of the service. Optional updates (like "your yard's clean" photos) can be turned off anytime from your account — turning those off won't silence essential mail.
Keeping it & getting it removed
We keep your information for as long as you're a customer and a reasonable period afterward for records and legal/accounting needs. You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing hello@scoopthereitisvt.com, and we'll take care of it within a reasonable time (subject to records we're required to keep).
Visit data has a shorter life. If you answered one of our "what held you back?" prompts, the identifying parts of that visit — your IP address, browser and device, and the referring page — are erased 90 days afterward. What you told us is kept without them, so we can still see over time why people don't sign up. Our own site-usage measurements never include your IP address or device at all.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information and work with established providers (like Stripe) for sensitive data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take it seriously.
Kids
This is a service for homeowners and renters; it isn't directed at children.
Changes
If we update this policy we'll change the effective date above and, for meaningful changes, let you know by email.
